The Women's Council of REALTORS sponsored a post-event mixer for EMERGE! attendees from 2:00-4:00pm. This was a great opportunity to network with other real estate professionals following the event. Drink tickets were provided for the first 100 who registered.

Everyone joined us October 12th for a good use of their time. Time management, when you just don't have enough! Kathey Batey took a humorous look into the mind of a busy woman to see what motivates her to be: Superwoman, Martyr, Manager, Problem Solver, Referee (and all before breakfast!). Are we living out our priorities or are we a “reflex” to our own lives? Live what matters!
Fall was in the air which means football, apple cider, colored leaves, and hoodies. We celebrated the season change together. All WCR members were invited, and we wanted you to bring a friend! Halfway through the mix & mingle, our president Ashley Dietch-Schaefer discussed what WCR is all about and the opportunities that go with being a member. One drink ticket and appetizers were provided for attendees.
For the September breakfast, we were honored to have Nobu Hata speak. Nobu works for NAR as the Director of Member Engagement. He talked about how the industry is evolving; what we need to focus on and what to not to get distracted by. For example, what does the increasing use of virtual reality mean for Realtors? Will Zillow be a threat to our profession? You found out if you were at the September breakfast!
Members joined us for a day of golf, food, networking, and fun! Not a golf professional? No worries!!! Come on out to have fun and network! We will be awarding a prize for First Place, 16th Place and Last Place! Besides, it is a scramble! Every shot does NOT count, but every opportunity to build your business DOES!
For our June breakfast, we welcomed professor David Weinandy. You’ve spent days determining what it is you need to tell people. Now, let’s spend some time making sure others want to listen to your message. During our time together, you will increase your public speaking effectiveness. We will cover such areas as: types of delivery, what to do with your voice and body, introductions and conclusions, reducing anxiety, credibility, and visual aids. Our goal is to make you a more motivated and motivating speaker. Public speaking can be fun!
Interested in golf outings, but not great at golf? Planning to attend, but don't have a full team? Well then this event was made specially for you. This is a golf outing mixer combined with a golf lesson! We hosted it at the lovely Thornapple Pointe Golf Club. Lessons were from 3:00-4:00pm and the mixer was from 4:00-5:00pm. $10 included one drink ticket and a half hour lesson with a golf professional. Members came to practice for the golf outing, meet new people, and put together their fiercesome foursome! (Teams of four)
If there is one thing everyone can use a refresher course on, it's business etiquette. Often times etiquette mistakes are not intentional, but can be perceived as rude. Do you tend to interrupt others? Or forget to introduce people? Does your phone ring during meetings? Don't be that person! Perform at the top of your game in every level of business and learn "Today's Business Etiquette". We welcome Cindy Brown from Hello West Michigan to update and refresh us on this important topic.
Members joined us April 19th for a classic spring mixer with WCR. Whether you are a new member, veteran, or just interested in finding out more about WCR, everyone was invited. We checked out the cool Creston neighborhood hangout Brighton Graye's Bistro. The beautiful space was recently remodeled and brings an urban vibe to the area. New WCR members came to our new member orientation preceding the mixer. Members of the board explained the ins and outs of the WCR organization. We covered everything from events to education to committees and volunteer opportunities. Thanks to everyone who attended!
Are you doing every thing you can for your seller clients? Sharpen your selling skills to win those listings! We heard advice from the pros Dana Mixon (ROI Home Staging) and Elizabeth Klopp (LiveHappyGR Photography) regarding listing preparation, staging, photography, and other best practices. How often do you shake your head looking at listing photos online and wonder to yourself "really?!" Staging and great photos are vital aspects of marketing a listing. Give your sellers the best advice and it will ensure the highest sales price. Let's get out there and show everyone that WCR members raise the bar!
