It is time to start thinking about 2018 and electing officers for our local WCR chapter. Please submit all applications by Tuesday, October 10th. The Nominating Committee will review the applications and compile the slate of officers. We will vote at our October 12th monthly Breakfast meeting and announce our new 2018 officers at that time. If you ever wanted to begin a leadership path that could take you to a national leadership level , now is the time. Here are the descriptions for each position-
President-Elect The main role of the President-Elect is to prepare for presidency. This includes assisting the president and attending Leadership Academy in August. The President-Elect presides at all meetings and performs the necessary duties in the absence of the President. The President-Elect automatically succeeds to the presidency the following year. In the fall, and in collaboration with the chapter's entire incoming leadership team, they complete the chapter business plan using the WCR annual report form. The President-Elect must be a REALTOR or REALTOR associate. Vice President of Membership The VP of Membership will oversee all membership activities. Accountable for recruitment, retention, and recapturing membership efforts of the chapter. They are responsible for the implementation and follow-through on the national membership marketing campaign when one is in effect. The VP of Membership establishes local chapter membership goals in coordination with the chapter President and governing board. They communicate these goals and organize the chapter effort for achieving those goals. They report to national WCR any changes to member information. The VP of Membership must be a REALTOR or REALTOR associate. Secretary The Secretary will take minutes of chapter meetings. Minutes are to be recorded for all governing board meetings. Copies of the minutes will be sent to the local chapter President, President-Elect, state chapter President, and state Governor. The Secretary is responsible for notifying the national WCR office of names and addresses of newly elected officers of the chapter as soon as elected, but no later than November 1st. Treasurer The Treasurer has custody of the funds of the chapter and makes disbursements as directed by the President or governing board. They work with the governing board to develop an annual budget. They will make monthly budget reports that will be available at all regular chapter meetings. The Treasurer reviews association expenditures and financial status on a regular basis to ensure overall fiscal integrity. They submit the financial accounts of the association to an annual independent audit. This is appointed by the President. May perform other duties as assigned.
